So my 2005 Volvo S80 has recently began popping up this message, which I assume is an oil change reminder light. It was done at 62.9k and I just had it done again at 68k, so it is good oil for a while. However, I can’t figure out how to reset the light. I googled it and was told to turn the key to I, hold the trip down until it resets, and then turn the key to II, hold for 5 more seconds, and then let go. The triangular hazard symbol in the middle starts to flash, but the message doesn’t go away. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Trans fluid? Radiator flush? Something with a sensor monotering it.

as soon as you see the 3rd flash of the triangle, let go.
it will not work if the trip has 0.0 miles on it.
Don’t do it unless oil change has been done recently

Thank you! I will try that. The oil was done just about 1,000 miles ago. I’m going to do it again at 72k.

Possibly, but the cookie monster himself told me to release after the 3rd flash and it should clear. So we’ll try that.

if you do it now, and the light comes on, you’ll be 1,000 miles late. Just keep an eye out on it and she’ll be running fine for a long time. Any other questions about your Volvo S80, let me know

Reminds me of our Jeep. I call these “Cheat Codes” to turn off the warning message, the Jeeps message is intrusive and beeps at you when you start the truck.
For that one I have to turn the key to accessory power, push gas to the floor 3 times, turn completely off, then start it.
All to annoy the crap out of you until you give up and go to the dealer to have them do it for you....

Air filter
A/C filter
Fuel filter
*if applicable per chassis break*
Washer fluid
Brake fluid
Coolant
Oil cap seal
Spark plugs
Batt test
Tech will test drive it, look it over the car all the way, and will check for and pending Volvo for Life software updates (no charge), recalls, etc.

It's a deflector. Found it at a local salvage yard with all the install hardware attached. I also installed the full Dolby ProLogic Surround Sound system with the 300 watt amp and the DYNaudio speakers all around. MIND BLOWING SYSTEM!!! Only had it a year and it is the most fantastic car ever!

No, it only slides into the roof, as far as I can tell. I’d love for it to tilt so that I can raise it up to get some hot air out while I’m at work and its baking in the Florida heat.

Unless it’s aftermarket it should indeed tilt up in the rear. Does your switch look like this?
